Xiaomi Mi Note 2 release date, news: Why the smartphone won't have a flat-screen version

(YouTube/ Mi)Xiaomi Mi Note 2 won't be having a flat-screen version, and for good reason.

The arena of technology and smartphones is a saturated and competitive one, but Chinese company Xiaomi was able to penetrate the market with its Mi Note 2. Its sophisticated design and excellent specifications certainly placed it on the map as one of the giants-to-be, although fans are clamoring for a flat-screen version of the smartphone.

According to reports, Xiaomi marketing director Zang Zhiyuan has denied plans of creating a flat-screen version for the Mi Note 2. This has shot down rumors of flat-screen development, which some think would create a more affordable price for the Chinese smartphone.

If one looks at the proposition closely, it wouldn't make sense creating a different version of the Mi Note 2, considering the success it has garnered despite its price. Moreover, stocks for the said smartphone were sold out in just a few minutes after it was made available early November. Although it doesn't give a clear indication of its affordability, still the fact it emptied stores quickly means the price is not an issue.

Furthermore, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is already affordable yet competitive as it is. Early this month, Android Headlines pitted the Mi Note 2 against the established Sony Experia XZ, where the Chinese smartphone won the head-on comparison hands down. The Mi Note 2 boasts superb performance and a more reliable battery life for $200 less of what one pays to get the Sony Experia XZ.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 runs on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, something that contributes to its superior performance. With 128 GB storage space and a large 6 GB memory, it further enhances the smartphone's speed in using applications. The large capacity is second to none, something that other smartphones struggle with.

With this being said, the pricing is justifiable, thus a remodeling of the Mi Note 2 may be uncalled for and unnecessary. After its launch in October 2016, it has quickly risen to be one of the renowned smartphones of the year.
