Xiaomi Mi Note 2 release date, specs, features rumors: Device to be launched next month

(Xiaomi Official)Shown in the picture is the current Mi Note. Rumor has it that the Mi Note 2, aka Mi Note Pro, will be launched next month.

After it was reported earlier that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, otherwise known as Mi Note Pro, would be launched along with the Mi5s today, it is now alleged that the device will be revealed next month instead.

According to reports, while it's true that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has already been approved by China Compulsory Certification (CCC), it has yet to receive a certification from TENAA, China's telecom equipment certification authority, and this is a clear indication that the device is just not ready for a release yet. Hence, the Mi5s will have the spotlight all on its own today as it is launched.

However, it may not take that long for those anticipating the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 before the device finally arrives. While there are those who claim that the device will be launched next month, there are also speculations that the device will be launched at the latter part of the year, just in time for the holidays. Despite the differing months, rumors point to one thing: the device will arrive within the year.

Despite the delay in the arrival of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, though, there are already various rumors and speculations as to what the Chinese-made device will offer. For instance, rumors have it that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will come in two variants in terms of its internal memory: the 64 GB with 4 GB RAM and the 128 GB with 6 GB RAM.

It is also alleged that the device will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow as its operating system.

It is also said to boast of a 5.7-inch 2K dual curved display, pretty much the same with Samsung's Galaxy Note 7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, and will offer either a 12-megapixel dual-lens camera or a 16-megapixel main camera with 4 axis OIS and dual LED flash.

There are also reports saying that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will come in a body made of metal, which is expected to make the device not only sturdier but sleeker, too, as, after all, Xiaomi is known for coming up with sleek-looking devices.
