(Mi.com)Follow-up to the Xiaomi Mi Note(shown), the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, expected to be officially revealed on Oct. 25

Recent leaks regarding the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 have put out possible price points that have been all over the map, with some hinting that folks may be set to see a very expensive smartphone and others indicating that it may be more reasonably priced, and now, a new rumor is hinting at a price tag that falls somewhere in between.

According to a new report from Toutiao, the starting price of the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone may be set at 3,999 Yuan, or right around $591.

Previously, a separate report from the website noted that prices of the Mi Note 2 variants may be significantly more expensive. The report indicated that the low-end variant of the new smartphone may go on sale for 4,999 Yuan (around $738), while the premium offering may be made available for 5,699 ($841).

Notably, the aforementioned price points are significantly higher than previously expected, and there are also rumblings that none of them may end up being the final price point for any one of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 variants.

Along with all those pricing rumors, details about the Mi Note 2 were also revealed in recently leaked presentation slides.

The presentation slides – images of which were shared by AndroidPure – revealed a lot about the new Xiaomi smartphone. The slides revealed that there were two variants coming, with the lower-end model featuring 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while the higher-end device would provide 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage.

Those slides also contained pricing details, and they indicated that the prices would be set at 2,799 Yuan ($413) and 2,999 Yuan ($443) for the low and high-end variants respectively.

Needless to say, there's still plenty of confusion surrounding this particular smartphone, but the good news is that things should clear up pretty soon, as the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is already set to be officially launched on Oct. 25.
