Xiaomi Mi Note 2 release date: possible specs leak after a new screenshot surfaces online

(Mi.com)Follow-up to the Xiaomi Mi Note(shown), the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, expected to arrive soon

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has been no stranger to leaks recently, and the latest one is hinting that the upcoming device may offer some pretty interesting features.

Recently, more of the new device's possible features were revealed courtesy of a spec-filled screenshot that made its way online.

Phone Radar was able to share the screenshot in question, and at least according to it, the new device may feature both the Android Nougat operating system (OS) as well as the MIUI 8.6.8.26 OS.

It would seem unusual for any device to run two different types of operating systems, so this will be one of the things that needs to be clarified once the Mi Note 2 is finally released.

The screenshot also shows that the new device may come with as much as 6GB of RAM onboard together with 64GB of internal storage, though potential buyers may be able to choose from a range of different Mi Note 2s that offer varying memory configurations.

As was also leaked via another screenshot that was shared previously by Android Headlines, three different versions of the new Xiaomi smartphone may eventually be made available to the public.

The lower end variant of the smartphone may provide users with 4GB of RAM as well as 32GB of internal storage, while the mid-range offering may come with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, the same memory specs listed in the most recent leak.

A third variant of the new device will also reportedly feature 6GB of RAM while giving users access to 128GB of available storage space.

It may also just be a matter of time before people find out about the official specs and features of the new Xiaomi phone, with earlier rumors indicating that the Mi Note 2 could finally be introduced to the public on Sept. 5.
