Gamers all over the world can now be famous not just by joining national tournaments of popular games like "Counter Strike: Global Offensive," "Dota 2" or "League of Legends" but just by live streaming their game. Twitch, which is owned by Amazon, is the most popular gaming platform today that offers live streaming of games and gaming events.

YouTube's attempt on acquiring "Twitch" last year was a huge fail. As reported by The Verge, Amazon acquired the website for a total of $970 million. However, a few months later—to be specific, during last week's E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo)—YouTube has unveiled their own platform that has the potential to match Twitch. As stated on a different report from The Verge, the company live streamed the event for 12 hours last week.

YouTube Gaming is identical to Twitch. It shows live stream of games and gaming events and has many channels of specific games. According to the company's official blog, YouTube Gaming will have more than 25,000 games and each of them will have their own page. It will be released as a website and an app for mobiles and tablets.

As cited on the company's blog, it is "a brand new app and website to keep you connected to the games, players, and culture that matter to you, with videos, live streams, and the biggest community of gamers on the web—all in one place."

"There clearly is an appetite for gaming when you see billions of hours of watch time," YouTube's head of gaming content, Ryan Wyatt said to BBC. Wyatt also added, "People are entertaining, there's comedy, there's drama, there's animation. It's not necessarily people just playing video games. It's something much bigger than that."

The live streaming gaming platform, as reported by pcr-online, is said to launch this coming summer in the UK and the US.
