As several Asian manufacturers have started to churn out metal-bodied devices, it was not surprising that Asus also decided to follow suite with the ZenFone 3 Deluxe. However, this smartphone will have to take on and beat the iPhone 6s Plus if it wants to be successful. This is how these two compare in a face-off.

Design

Asus is marketing the ZenFone 3 Deluxe edition, which is its flagship for the year, as the first metal-bodied smartphone with invisible antenna lines. This means that the device has a smooth back and a great look and feel. It also has a fingerprint scanner positioned at the rear. Coming to colors, the ZenFone 3 Deluxe comes in silver, gray and gold.

In the meantime, on the iPhone 6s Plus is a metal body with all the best design elements that Apple normally features, but the antenna bands are clearly visible on the back. As for the fingerprint scanner, it is included in the Touch ID button on the front and in terms of colors, there are four: rose gold, gold, gray and silver.

Display

Here the iPhone 6s Plus has a slight advantage as it comes with 3D Touch in its display which can sense the amount of pressure being applied by the user's fingertips. However, coming to the size, the ZenFone 3 Deluxe is slightly ahead as it has a Super AMOLED display measuring 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 386 pixels per inch. As for the iPhone 6s Plus, it has an IPS LCD screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401 pixels per inch.

Hardware

When it comes to hardware, the iPhone 6s Plus is on equal footing with its competitor since it has an Apple A9 chipset coupled with a dual core CPU and a PowerVR GT7600 GPU. Onboard the device from Asus is a Snapdragon 820 chipset coupled with a quad-core CPU and an Adreno 530 GPU.

Memory

There is no memory slot on the iPhone 6s Plus and so external storage cannot be added. As for the ZenFone 3 Deluxe, it supports up to 128 GB. Coming to RAM, there is either 4 GB or 6 GB on the ZenFone 3 Deluxe, while the iPhone 6s Plus comes with 2 GB.

Camera

Onboard the ZenFone 3 Deluxe is a 23-megapixel camera with OIS, while the iPhone 6s Plus has a 12-megapixel version also with OIS.

Price

In terms of pricing, the ZenFone 3 Deluxe is priced at $499 unlocked, while the iPhone 6s Plus costs $299 with a two-year contract.
