'Dragon Ball Super', 'Dragon Ball Z: Ressurection F' release dates officially confirmed for July and August

The past week has truly been an exciting one for "Dragon Ball" fans, as the release dates for both the upcoming TV series as well as the film's North America showing were announced. Fans are trying to discover more information about the upcoming releases in order to prepare themselves for the long-awaited return of the very famous franchise.

"Dragon Ball", which was first made available in the manga form over thirty years ago, is a widely successful series initially focusing on the adventures of Goku, as he takes on villains in his quest to find the titular Dragon Balls.

The series is considered to be one of the most popular franchises of all time, with the original manga being adapted to several platforms, including television and film. The series is considered to be a milestone as well as instrumental in ushering in the "Golden Age of Jump", the period when manga circulation is at its highest. To date, "Dragon Ball" has produced nine feature films, three television specials and three anime installments, all of which have received huge praise.

Despite the huge craze surrounding "Dragon Ball" being still very strong, there has been no TV adaptation of the series in over eighteen years. However, a new installment reportedly entitled, "Dragon Ball Super", was recently reported to be in production and word has it that a release date has already been set for the show. More recently, Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine revealed that "Dragon Ball Super" would premiere in Japan by July 5, much to the delight of fans.

But Japanese viewers are not the only ones being pampered by the creators of "Dragon Ball". The recently released "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F", which was a massive success during its local premiere and even grabbed the blockbuster spot from "Fast and Furious 7", has been scheduled for a North America cinematic debut. The movie will be shown in select American theaters from August 4 to 12, 2015.

"Dragon Ball Super" will air on FujiTV by July 5, while North American fans of the franchise can already book their seats in advance for the upcoming movie premiere of "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F" on the "Dragon Ball Z" official website.
