There is a new contender in town when it comes to phablets and it arrived in the form of the Moto Z Force. However, it will have to take on and beat the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 which was released last year and is currently one of the most popular phones among users. Here is how these two very different devices compare in a face-off.

Design

When it comes to design, the Moto Z Force has modules which give it an edge. So far, only three - the Motorola JBL SoundBoost speaker, along with an Incipio offGRID Power Pack and a Moto Insta-Share Projector - are available but there are indications that more could be arriving soon. These modules can be clipped onto the back of the full metal body of the Moto Z Force, which has sixteen holes for this purpose. As for colors, the device comes in black/rose gold, black/gray, white and black/gold.

Coming to its competitor, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, it has a stylus in the form of the S Pen and it can be used for writing and drawing on the screen. However, in terms of build, it only has metal on its frame while the front and back panels feature glass. There are fingerprint scanners on both devices and they are positioned in the home button. However, only the Note 5 is waterproof and it comes with an IP68 rating, while in terms of colors, it has four options: white, black, gold and silver.

Display

The display on the Note 5 is slightly bigger and it is a Super AMOLED version measuring 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and has a pixel density of 518 pixels per inch. As for the Moto Z Force, it has an AMOLED display measuring 5.5 inches and it comes with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a pixel density of 535 pixels per inch.

Hardware

The Moto Z Force comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset that is coupled with a quad-core CPU and an Adreno 530 GPU. On the Note 5 is an Exynos 7420 Octa chipset coupled with an octa-core CPU and a Mali-T760MP8 GPU.

Memory

Only the Moto Z Force has a memory slot which can support upto 256 GB of external storage while the Note 5 does not have one. As for RAM, each of these devices has 4GB onboard.

Camera

Onboard the Note 5 is a 16-megapixel camera, while the Moto Z Force has a 21-megapixel version. Both of their main cameras have OIS.

Price

As for price, the Galaxy Note 5 is priced at $696 at full retail while the Moto Z Force's price has not been revealed.
