GoPro Hero 5: delays to release of much awaited device

(GoPro)The follow up device to the GoPro Hero 4 named the GoPro Hero 5 could be delayed

Not much is known about when the release of the GoPro Hero 5 is going to be, but it is not essentially bad news as the company behind the line has been doing well. Recently, GoPro Inc. revealed, in its earnings report, that its revenue had increased by nearly 72 percent in the second quarter. Aside from that, they also shared that they are planning to create drones and other products geared toward virtual reality.

Unfortunately, as mentioned, there was no indication, in their earnings report, when the GoPro Hero 5 would be released. Due to the uncertainty of the upcoming device's launch, a number of rumors have surfaced which claimed that the camera's release has been delayed until the end of the year, or even next year.

While the rumor, if proven to be accurate, is not good news for the company or the entire lineup, the company is not worrying about losing customers as new cameras of theirs have recently hit the market. These are the small Hero 4 session and the Hero LCD.

The Hero 4 Session is the smallest camera from the company and it has been getting great reviews from a number of websites. The Hero 4 Session boasts of being able to last two hours of video recording while the Hero LCD, which is a cheaper version of the main GoPro Hero 4 model, comes with an LCD screen mounted on the back and can record videos at 60 fps with a resolution of 1080p.

As for the delayed GoPro Hero 5, rumors suggest that its release has been pushed until next year because the company is working on getting the features right in the camera including the ability to record 4K videos at 60 fps.

Other rumors, meanwhile, indicate, that the upcoming camera will be able to record 8K videos. Even though the rumors about the GoPro Hero 5 are just speculations at this point, it is clear that the company has already set its sight on drastically improving the features of the device before it releases.
