MacBook Pro 2016 release date: New rumor hints at Oct. 27 debut for updated laptop

(Apple)The MacBook Pro 2016, the follow-up to the MacBook Pro (pictured), could be unveiled very soon

Even though there are only a few days left in the month, the MacBook Pro 2016 is still reportedly coming out before October is up, at least according to a new rumor, and an exact date for its arrival may have been identified.

Sources spoken to recently by Recode have indicated that Apple is now set to introduce updated Mac units during an upcoming event that is currently expected to take place on Oct. 27.

The updated MacBook Pro laptop is expected to be the headliner of the rumored event.

This is not the first time that the updated laptop has been speculated to be in line for an October reveal.

Back in August, a lengthy report from Bloomberg touched on Apple's future plans and among them was a possible MacBook Pro launch that could take place as early as this month.

The earlier Bloomberg report also talked about a possible MacBook Pro feature known internally at Apple as the Dynamic Function Row and it is expected to replace the conventional function keys.

Other design changes are also rumored to be in the works for the updated laptop. The report indicated that the new laptop may be significantly slimmer and its keyboard may also be flatter.

A recent report from Mac Otakara noted that the updated laptop may provide USB-C support, though it's still unclear how many ports may be featured. Thunderbolt 3 support is also expected to be a component of the new laptop.

Furthermore, the Mac Otakara report also hinted that units of the new laptop may even be sent out to retailers before the calendar turns to November. That could mean that the new laptop, along with other Mac devices, may hit stores not long after they are officially announced.

More news about the MacBook Pro 2016 and its other possible features should be made available in the near future.
