A South Carolina United Methodist pastor and his wife were charged this week with possessing child pornography.

Forty-one-year-old Grady Bernard Ponds, a minister at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Bamberg, S.C., and his wife Rhonda were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly having pictures of children engaged in sex acts on their computer.

The couple now faces one count each of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and if convicted, could face up to ten years in prison.

The Ponds' were released from prison on bail earlier today with a promise to appear in court. The couple has maintained their innocence.
