'Pokemon Sun and Moon' to introduce two new characters

(Facebook/Pokemon Heroes)A scene from "Pokemon Heroes" movie. The "Pokemon" franchise is set to introduce two more characters in the upcoming "Pokemon Sun and Moon" game, Nekkoala and Iwanko.

Fans of "Pokemon" games will finally meet two new Pokemons in the Alola region, Nekkoala and Iwanko, who will be featured in the upcoming "Pokemon Sun and Moon." This piece of news has been confirmed after a Twitter post in Japanese shows a leaked of a yet-to-be-released copy of CoroCoro, a Japanese manga magazine, where the said latest "Pokemon" characters can be seen.

According to Comic Book, Nekkoala is a normal-type Pokemon that looks like a koala bear and is believed to be endowed with a dream ability as he is known by the moniker "Contagious Dream" Pokemon. Nekkoala is said to have the definite sleep ability, something that prevents it from suffering from any condition except for sleep. The latest Pokemon character is basically immune to paralysis, burn, poisoning, and confusion.

On the other hand, Iwanko is the dog version of Pokemon. According to Poke Beach, Iwanko is a rock-type dog and is labeled as the "Puppy Pokemon" and knows bite attack. The all-about-Pokemon website also reported that CoroCoro has hinted that there is a secret that links Iwanko and its first trainer. On the other hand, Heavy reports that the name Iwanko may be a combination of the Japanese words "iwa" (which means rock), "wan" (sound of a barking dog), "wanko" (puppy), and "ko" (child).

Comic Book movie advises non-Japanese speaking fans of "Pokemon," though, not to be attached to the names of the new "Pokemon" characters as there is a big likelihood that they have their respective English names. The comic book-related website also opines that it is very possible for the two new "Pokemon" characters to be officially introduced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which is happening this week, specifically from June 14 to 16, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Apart from the official introduction of Nekkoala and Iwanko, it is also expected that Nintendo will unveil the gameplay footage of "Pokemon Sun and Moon" and "Pokemon Go" at the E3 event.
