'Rainbow Six Siege' release date, news: Devs reveal Year 2 Season Pass details and contents

(Ubisoft/Rainbox Six Siege)Ubisoft announced that the Year 2 Season of "Rainbox Six Siege" will happen in Spain, Hong Kong, Poland, and South Korea.

As promised, the developers of "Rainbow Six Siege" will release another series of downloadable contents as the game enters its second year. They have recently announced the future details, contents and perks for those who will avail of the Year 2 Season Pass.

For starters, Ubisoft announced that in the next four DLCs, Team Rainbow will be going to Spain, Hong Kong, Poland and South Korea. Since players will be taking on new countries, new maps for each season will be released. And just like in Year 1, eight new operators will be introduced, all coming from new counter terrorism units.

The Season 2 DLCs already have their target release dates. The first season in Spain is slated to release in February 2017, followed by the Hong Kong-based season in May 2017. The third season is targeted to be launched in August 2017 and is set in Poland, and lastly, the South Korea season is slated to be released in November 2017. These release schedules are tentative though. Just like what happened in Year 1, some seasons experienced a few delays.

Ubisoft has already made the Year 2 Season Pass available since last Tuesday, Nov. 29 for $29.99 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Purchasing the Season Pass will entitle players to a full-year (until Feb. 7, 2018) VIP membership access and several other items. Aside from the new maps and eight new operators, VIP members of the Year 2 Season will also get eight new headgears, eight "unique" uniforms, Rainbow Six Carbon charm, and 600 Rainbow Six credits.

According to Reddit, VIP members will get exclusive access to the instant unlock of the two new operators in each season plus a one-week early access to the season games. They will get an all-year round 10 percent discount for in-game merchandise, two extra challenges daily, and a 5 percent Renown boost for faster unlocking of in-game contents.

Ubisoft promised to reveal more details about Year 2 Season Pass during the game's Six Invitational event on Feb. 3 to 5, 2017.
