'Red Dead Redemption 2' release date, rumors and speculations: Game sequel in development and rumored to be released by 2016

Fans of the Rockstar Games developed title, "Red Dead Redemption," have been anxiously waiting for quite some time now for the official announcement of the sequel, "Red Dead Redemption 2." However, the developer still hasn't made a concrete statement yet whether the sequel is really happening or not. Moreover, recent reports have emerged suggesting that the game is allegedly being developed and could be released sometime next year, 2016.

According to the report from Venture Capital Post, words on the street has strongly suggested that Rockstar Games is indeed working on the sequel "Red Dead Redemption 2" and it could potentially have a release date possibly by 2016. Furthermore, rumors have indicated that the game could even be launched on October 2016 along with the PC version of the sequel with an added three playable characters.

In terms of content and newly added features, Crossmap reports that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will re-introduce the character Jack Marston, the son of the protagonist of the first IP. Furthermore, Jack is also expected to act as the protagonist on this game sequel and that the story will revolve around him.

As for its newly added contents, Crossmap has mentioned that the sequel will most likely feature a co-op multiplayer. If this turn out to be accurate though, "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be the first in the franchise to ever sport a feature such as this one.

Lastly, in terms of availability or compatibility for the platforms, the source has stated that the game sequel will most certainly have a port for the PC as well as the next-gen (or current gen) consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

However, since Rockstar Games still hasn't confirmed the existence of "Red Dead Redemption 2," it would be best for fans to take the latest rumors with a pinch of salt until the developer officially confirms it.
