St. Paul's Cathedral in London celebrated the 350th anniversary of the Anglican Book of Common Prayer on Wednesday with a service of evensong from the 1662 volume.

Attendees included the Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams along with the Prayer Book societies in Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom, according to the Episcopal News Service.

The Book was compiled in the sixteenth century by Thomas Cranmer and modified in 1662. It is the official doctrinal standard of the Church of England and many others in the Anglican Communion, according to the Prayer Book Society's website for the anniversary.

The book contains the words of structured services of worship.
