'Teen Wolf' season 5B spoilers: Scott does battle to bring back his pack; MTV airing special screening of episodes 1 to 10

(MTV/Teen Wolf Official Facebook Page)"Teen Wolf" season 5B will return on Jan. 5.

The long wait is almost over for "Teen Wolf" fans, as the show is set to commence the second half of season 5 in January. The second half of the season will reportedly deal with Scott's resurrection and his attempt to bring back his pack. And in preparation for the show's return, a marathon screening is being scheduled for fans in select U.S. cities.

Fans can recall that in episode 10, Parrish (Ryan Kelley) turned out to be a hellhound and Theo (Cody Christian) killed Scott (Tyler Posey). Luckily, Melissa (Melissa Ponzio) was able to revive him. But Theo was able to access Lydia's (Holland Roden) memories and brought her to the Nemeton, where he proceeded to inject Corey (Michael Johnston), Hayden (Victoria Moroles) and Tracy (Kelsey Chow) with a serum that brought them back to life. He also told them that he was their Alpha and that they all belonged to him.

Theo will reportedly play a major role in the latter half of the season, but whether as Scott's ally or his nemesis still remains to be seen. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, "Teen Wolf" executive producer Jeff Davis says Theo's capacity to transform into a coyote makes him a "talented chimera," but also a very dangerous individual.

Aside from dealing with Theo and his recently revived pack, Scott also has to deal with the Desert Wolf and the Beast of Gévaudan. The former is reportedly targeting Malia (Shelley Hennig), who has a still unknown connection to the creature while the latter is said to be the most brutal werewolf of all.

Davis has described "Teen Wolf" season 5B as the "season of resurrection" as it revolves around Scott's revival, how death affected him and his quest to resurrect his pack. According to Davis, Scott has to give his pack hope, like his mother told him. But to do so, he has to "find hope again."

Meanwhile, MTV appears to be taking a page out of the "Star Wars" playbook and will be hosting a special marathon screening of the first 10 episodes of the season. According to the show's official Facebook page, the event, dubbed as the "Red Eyes Marathon," will be held on Dec. 29 in select cinemas. Participants will meet some special guests, see a sneak peek of the upcoming midseason premiere and get some free goodies.

"Teen Wolf" season 5 is set to return on Jan. 5, 2016.
