'Tekken 7' roster: Expansion to introduce two new characters

Bandai Namco Entertainment's fighting video game "Tekken 7" will receive an expansion pack this coming June. The update will add new characters to the game's roster.

(Facebook/Tekken)Bandai Namco has confirmed that "Tekken 7" will not have a cross-platform play feature.

According to the game developers, the expansion will be launched this June 2. The expansion will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles, and on PCs. With an Unreal Engine 4 to power the expansion, it is expected to feature photo-realistic graphics, as well as impressive fight mechanics.

The expansion will focus on "love, revenge, and pride." More importantly, it is expected to feature the culmination of the 20-year-old Mishima clan feud. It will highlight the feud between Heihachi and Kazuya Mishima.

More importantly, over 30 characters will come with the expansion pack, one of which is "Street Fighter" character Akuma, who will be bringing his shoto-style fighting skills and fireballs into the franchise. Another character set to debut in the expansion is the first Saudi Arabian fighter, Shaheen.

The game will also introduce a new style of gameplay. Gamers, however, will still be able to enjoy the classic player vs. player setup. In addition, new moves and battle mechanics, such as "Rage Arts," "Power Crushes," and "Rage Drives," will be available in the game.

When the game launches this June, two versions will be made available — a standard edition and a collector's edition. From what the names suggest, the collector's edition will have more physical content. Unlike the former, this will come with Kazuya and Heihachi statues. And the game's contents will be encased in a steelbook.

"Tekken 7" made its debut in March 2015. It is available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, arcades, and on Microsoft Windows PCs.

"Tekken 7" expansion is slated to debut on June 2.

More updates should arrive in the weeks to come.
