'The Big Bang Theory' season 10 spoilers: Howard deals with his father's return

(Facebook/TheBigBangTheory)Howard may meet his absentee father in "The Big Bang Theory" season 10.

Howard (Simon Helberg) may end up meeting the person he professed to hate above all in the upcoming season of "The Big Bang Theory."

Recently, it has been teased that the new installment of the CBS series will be a family reunion of sorts. Fans already met Leonard's (Johnny Galecki) parents, as well as Sheldon's (Jim Parsons) mother. As per Variety, Penny's (Kaley Cuoco) mom and brother will arrive from Nebraska to attend her wedding. Katey Sagal (8 Simple Rules) and Jack McBrayer (30 Rock) will portray the roles of Susan and Randall, respectively. Penny's father, Wyatt (Keith Carradine) was already introduced earlier on in the series.

Although the said reunion is expected to be a disaster, there will be one man who cannot help but feel he is missing out on something.

Howard's father left them when he was still a kid. He told his pregnant wife Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) before that he would not be like his old man who let his family suffer because of selfishness. Howard said that he would not let the trauma from his past to dictate his own future. In a recent interview, Helberg expressed his hopes of Howard getting closure about the said plotline.

"I'd like to meet his dad. I mean, I respect, the writers are so great that there's nothing I would tell them, but I hope, just selfishly at least, that something comes up about his father, even if we don't meet him," the actor said.

If Howard is to meet his father after all these years, Bernadette's cooperation is definitely needed. She will want her husband to look forward to a happy life with their baby and stop worrying about the "what ifs." The expecting mother may even set up a reunion for the two men. It will be interesting to see Howard in a dramatic scene where he tells his father how he has been trying hard to not be like him.

"The Big Bang Theory" season 10 will premiere on CBS on Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. EDT.
