It has been nearly a decade since "The Incredibles" hit the big screen in 2006. Fans have sorely missed the superhero family and even more when plans of a sequel weren't in sight. However, that may change, if rumors are to be believed. Speculations indicate that ardent fans of the family may see their favorite batch of superheroes quite soon, possibly in summer of 2016.
KpopStarz spilled plot spoilers that reveal a grown up and aged family. Five years after the events of the first movie, the world is at peace. Superheroes have come out in the world and Dash and Violet make the greatest superhero duo. Bob and Helen fight crime intermittently, but decide to hang their costumes and dedicate all of their time to raising their 6-year-old son Jack-Jack. The previous movie revealed that Jack-Jack is also a superhero with the ability to change faces. However, now that youngest Incredibles family member is a rebel. He cannot control his powers and because of this, becomes an outcast. Add to this, his parents are over-protective following his kidnapping by a villain. The anxious parents believe some other villain may kidnap him again.
However, Jack-Jack discovers that the only time he can control his power is when he is angry or becomes villainous. An unknown villain - some sites speculate it is Syndrome - notices Jack-Jack's potential to become a great villain and mentors him for the same. However, in order to become a real villain his first task is to kill the Incredibles.
Many fans are wondering why it took so long to make the sequel. Contrary to popular belief, the sequel was delayed not due to visual effects but because director Brad Bird wanted to get the plot right. He told a website named Movies in 2011 that "I would like to think that I have several good ideas that could be incorporated into a next Incredibles, but I don't have a whole movie yet, and the last thing I want to do is do it just because it would open big, or something like that."
Watch out for more news, plot spoilers and an official release date for "The Incredibles 2".
