'The Walking Dead' season 7B first look, spoilers: AMC rolls out new teaser photos, official synopsis

(Facebook/TheWalkingDeadAMC)AMC has released new photos from the second half of "The Walking Dead" season 7.

The anticipation for the back half of "The Walking Dead" season 7 is building fast. And to help fans tide over the wait, AMC has released three new stills from the midseason premiere.

In addition to the photos, the network has also released the official synopsis for the upcoming second half of the season. The stills all come from the next episode, which premieres in February. The first photo sees a scruffy-looking Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) standing with his hands on his waist. The second one sees some of the Alexandrian survivors in a grassy pasture as they alertly look out for enemies or walkers. And finally, the last one sees Rick and the others staring intently at Katelyn Nacon's Enid. By the looks of it, she may have done something that the others don't approve of.

The second half of season 7 will see Rick and the Alexandrians forming together and looking for possible alliances in order to finally defeat Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his band of Saviors. A great war is ahead, and they're going to need all the help they can get. With Khary Payton's King Ezekiel already in the picture this season, it won't take long before he crosses paths with the Alexandrians.

Fans are also excited to watch Rick with a newfound purpose after spending the first half of the season feeling defeated and demoralized. Norman Reedus' Daryl is also back, after being taken in by Negan and the Saviors as prisoner. His escape was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the first half of season 7, and seeing him reunited with Rick and the other survivors stirred up quite a frenzy among fans.

Andrew Lincoln has already teased what's to come, especially concerning his character, Rick. "You see a man in action again with some of the members of his closest family," he said.

But episode 9 is only the beginning. "I promise you, there is one beat in [episode] 16, I dropped my script and started punching the air and did a little jig," Lincoln teased.

"The Walking Dead" season 7 returns on Feb. 12 on AMC.
