The iPhone 7 may be making the headlines in the tech community these days, but there's also another Apple device that can't seem to get away from the limelight – the Apple Watch 2.

According to rumors, fans of the Apple Watch may see the second iteration soon at the 2016 World Wide Developers Conference in June in San Francisco. The Apple Watch 2 is said to be unveiled at the said event.

This has not been confirmed by Apple so it's best to take these reports with a grain of salt.

Along with the launch date, rumors also state that the second smart watch from the Cupertino-based company will be released together with the new iPhone 7, which means that the wearable device could be available in the market by September this year.

As for the specs, it is expected that the Apple Watch 2 will carry significant improvements from the original device. Apple Watch received mixed reviews and it wasn't really impressive for many people. Apple might bring changes that should appeal to the customers.

Among the rumored features of the Apple Watch that should make it stand out in the smart watch market is its own cellular connectivity. Various media outlets have reported that Apple Watch 2 will be an independent wearable device, which means that it won't need to be tethered to an iPhone in order to work. If this rumor proves to be true, users of the Apple Watch 2 can then send messages or make calls straight from the wearable.

This is, of course, not a new feature, since there are already smart watches from top brands that have the 3G and 4G feature. It seems that Apple wants to adopt the same technology to make sure that Apple Watch is a better device this time. In addition, Apple Watch 2 is expected to include more health-tracking features for the new generation smart watch.
