Apple Watch 2 release date rumors: Possible reveal at WWDC in June 2016
Apple Watch 2 was nowhere to be seen during the Apple event held last March 21. With that, there are speculations of a reveal in the upcoming WWDC event in June.
According to Mac World, given that the tech giant did not provide any information on when the gadget is going to be released, fans can have their first look at the new smartwatch rumored to be on September.
Another rumor about the Apple Watch 2 is that limited stocks will be hitting the shelves before the end of the second quarter with additional inventory coming in by the third quarter. The tip came from Barry Lam, Chairman of Quanta Computer, which was the sole manufacturer of the first Apple Watch and presumably the same one that will be making its successor. If this turns out to be true, timeline-wise, Apple may also be looking for an official launch during the WWDC 2016 event to be held in June.
The tech giant, however, has made up for the lack of the Apple Watch 2 by releasing some brand-new interchangeable straps for the first Apple Watch. Despite its successor not showing up during the event, the original iteration of the smartwatch now has a plethora of brand-new bands dubbed the "spring" collection. The lineup includes brand-new color options for the sports and leather band collections, as well as a classier black option for the Milanese loop.
According to Wearable, the first generation of the Apple Watch has undergone some major price slashes with the cost dropping from $349 to just $299. This price drop of about $50 makes the Apple Watch capable of competing with the latest Moto 360 and Samsung Gear 2.
Fans of the tech giant will surely keep an eye out for the June event not only for the possible reveal of the watch but also its MacBook Pro 2016.
