Assassin's Creed Rogue trailer, release date: Arrives on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, most brutal gameplay yet [WATCH]
While the Assassin's Creed pre-release hype is predominantly going the Unity way, the Assassin's Creed Rogue upcoming release date for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 is showing more anticipation after the latest updates on the game's narrative, gameplay and characters.
"As you already know, Rogue is the story of Shay Patrick Cormac, an Assassin who decides to turn his back on the Brotherhood and become a Templar," Lead Writer Richard Farrese said.
"Shay starts out as a young Assassin, learning the trade. Eventually he gets sent out on a mission where something goes horribly wrong. When he returns to the Colonies and confronts Achilles, he is unable to make sense of what happened. It is at this point that Shay takes it upon himself to make sure the Assassins can never repeat what he was sent to do, and thus betrays the Brotherhood," he added.
Shay's character is not the typical protagonist one can find in action adventure RPG games.
His depth is fascinating and his grounded personality stirs mystery.
"One thing we wanted to make sure of is that we don't create a monodimensional, very flat character, a stereotypical bad guy who kills the good guys," Ubisoft Sofia Managing Director Ivan Balabanov told IGN.
"In Assassin's Creed Rogue, and Assassin's Creed Unity for that matter, it's about exploring the gray areas. It's not about the good and the bad, the right and the wrong. They're both fighting for something pretty similar, but they have different methods. What we wanted to make sure is that Shay is a relatable character, someone who you understand why he is doing what he's doing," Balabanov explained.
The entire storyline will revolve around Shay going from an Assassin to a grim Templar.
Assassin's Creed Rogue is scheduled for commercial on a Nov. 11 release date for Xbox 360, PS3 and now PC.
