Huawei Mate S vs. Sony Xperia Z5 Compact: Huawei's spacious device has the features to outshine the Sony Device

Design
When it comes to design, the Mate S has an edge as it has a full metal body with rounded edges. However, since its rear is made of aluminum as well, it is slightly difficult to hold and can be easily dropped. It has an impressive fingerprint scanner positioned just below the camera. As for colors, the device comes in gray, champagne and gold. As for he Xperia Z5 Compact, it only has metal on its frame, while its front and back are covered with frosted glass. As for its fingerprint scanner, it is positioned on the side of the frame and is incorporated into its redesigned power button. There are four color options available, black, white, coral and yellow. The device has an IP68 waterproof and dust proof rating but Sony advises users not to submerged the device in water when taking photos.
Display
The device from Huawei has a bigger and denser 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401 pixels per inch. However, the Xperia Z5 Compact has Triluminos color enhancing technology and the X-Reality Engine to upscale the quality of images. Its IPS LCD screen measures 4.6 inches with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a density of 323 pixels per inch.
Specs
In terms of hardware, the Xperia Z5 Compact is well and truly ahead. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, coupled with an octa-core CPU comprised of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2 GHz along with an Adreno 430 GPU. In the Mate S is a HiSilicon Kirin 935 chipset, coupled with an octa-core CPU comprised of four cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and four at 1.5 GHz along with a Mali-T628 MP4 GPU.
Memory
On the Mate S, the second SIM slot can be used to add up to 128 GB of external storage, while the Xperia Z5 Compact's memory slot supports up to 200 GB. As for RAM, the Mate S is ahead with 3 GB, as the Xperia Z5 Compact only has 2 GB.
Camera
There is a 23-megapixel camera on the Xperia Z5 compact with video stabilization and Hybrid autofocus, which allows photos to be taken within 0.03 seconds. The Mate S, meanwhile, has a 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization.
Price
The basic model of the Huawei Mate S is priced at $650, unlocked, while the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact has a similar price tag without a contract.
