iOS 10 specs, features rumors: To come with several improvements in native app for photos?
Apple is still releasing updates for iOS 9 but this has not stopped people from speculating about the changes in iOS 10. The latest rumor about the operating system for mobile devices like the iPhone and iPad lineup has indicated that it could come with a vastly improved native Photos app.
The news about the Photos app emerged on the Internet recently and it was picked up by various websites including TechnoBuffalo. It pointed towards the return of some of the features that were part of iPhoto in the past. Importantly, iPhoto was discontinued by Apple in 2014 and the company introduced the Photos app instead. With this change to Photos in iOS 8, the company announced that several features that were present in the professional photo app, Aperture, would be arriving to the new app.
However, if the latest rumor about the Photos apps pans out, users may see some of the features that were present in iPhoto returning. These include the option to edit EXIF data which was provided to users when iPhoto was in use. Also, the update to the Photos app that is due to arrive with iOS 10 will give people the ability to edit specific areas within a photo. This means that they can edit areas around people's faces without changing the whole image.
As for the release of iOS 10, it is only expected in the fall of this year and could arrive around the time when Apple releases the iPhone 7. Additionally, the changes that Apple is bringing to the iOS 10 Photos app will also be implemented on OS X 10.12. Both these operating systems are due to be showcased at Apple's WWDC this year. These conferences are usually held in June and a preview of the changes due to arrive in iOS 10 is expected to be on display.
Meanwhile, Apple has been rolling out betas for iOS 9.3 and in the fourth one, which was released recently, MacRumors states that the company fixed the issue relating to the Jan. 1, 1970 date bug.
