With Samsung and Apple going against each other to capture a share of the smartphone market, other players like LG and HTC are often left to gather up the crumbs. However, this year, the HTC 10 has arrived to take on the smartphone-dominated market, and this is how it compares to the popular iPhone 6s.

Design

There are a lot of similarities between these two devices as each comes with a metal unibody. However, the HTC 10 has a better-looking design with its sides sporting a shiny metal finish and its rear having the trademark plastic antenna strips. There is a fingerprint scanner on the device, which is incorporated into its front. In terms of colors, it comes in silver, gray, and gold. As for the iPhone 6s, its body is crafted from 7000 series aluminum and its corners are rounded, but it also has plastic strips at the back for the antenna. The fingerprint scanner is incorporated into the home button, and the device comes in four colors of gray, gold, rose gold, and silver.

Display

In terms of display, the HTC 10 has a Super LCD5 version measuring 5.2 inches and it has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and density of 565 pixels per inch. As for the iPhone 6s, it has a 4.7-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 750 x 1334 pixels and density of 326 pixels per inch.

Hardware

On board the HTC 10 is the Snapdragon 820 chipset, coupled with a quad-core CPU and an Adreno 530 GPU. As for the iPhone 6s, it comes with the Apple A9 chipset, coupled with a dual-core CPU and a PowerVR GT7600 GPU.

Memory

The memory slot on the HTC 10 supports up to 200 GB of external storage, while the iPhone 6s does not have a slot. As for RAM, the iPhone 6s has 2 GB on board, and the HTC 10 comes with 4 GB.

Camera

In terms of cameras, the 12-megapixel version on the HTC 10 has already rocketed to the top of the DxOMark listing where it is tied with the Galaxy S7 Edge. Meanwhile, the iPhone 6s comes with a12-megapixel camera, which is ranked lower.

Price

Comparing price, the HTC 10 has a $700 price tag unlocked, while the iPhone 6s costs $199 with a two-year contract.
