Apple could release two versions of the 6th generation iPod Touch

Apple continues to maintain a strong lead in the smartphone market with the iPhone 6, fans of the iPod Touch are wondering if there will be a new generation model they can look forward to in the coming year.

Apple has been very competitive with its music players since the start of the 21st century. The introduction of the iPod Touch in 2007 paved the way for the company to focus more on handheld devices and shift away from the initial music players.

To date, Apple has constantly updated its iPod Touch line by adding cameras and even introducing new colors with the aim of attracting new users. Apple has dominated the market, with the Itouch brandname becoming almost synonymous with portable music.

Rumors have been circulating that the 6th generation of the popular music player will be released in the coming months. And fans can expect a lot of changes in the new music player.

With Apple being quite well-known for its sleek and clean designs, the upcoming device is expected to be as modern as the previous versions. The new iPod Touch will reportedly come with a fingerprint scanner and will be powered by an A9 processor.

The successful release of the two most recent iPhones has also fuelled speculations that Apple could release two variants of the iPod Touch with the same height and length, similar to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. There are also rumors that Apple's new product line will be waterproof to allow it to compete with other waterproof handheld devices currently available in the market.

The speculations surrounding the release date and specifications of the sixth generation iPod Touch are yet to be confirmed. However, Apple is expected to make an announcement about the upcoming device very soon and some reports even claim that the new iPod Touch could become available by as early as the next month.
