Lumia 950 XL vs DROID Turbo 2: Device from Motorola has a shatterproof display

As the Lumia 950 XL has started rolling out worldwide, it is evident that that the smartphone will have to take on the DROID Turbo 2 with its shatterproof screen. Here is how these different looking devices with similar hardware fare in a comparison.

Design

In this category the DROID Turbo 2 has an edge as it has a metal frame and its back panel has a default textured Soft Grip finish which can be customized on the Moto Maker website. Here customers can choose from various other back panels created from leather or ballistic nylon and even choose different colored accents. However, the device does not have a fingerprint scanner which is also not present on the Lumia 950 XL. As for the device from Microsoft it has a body that is made of polycarbonate but it feels good in hand and comes in two colors white and black. However, one big advantage with the device is that it comes with Windows 10 and has a Continuum feature that allows it to be connected with desktops.

Display

Here the Lumia 950 XL is bigger and it comes with an AMOLED screen measuring 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and density of 518 pixels per inch. As for the DROID Turbo 2 it has ShatterShield technology on its display that prevents it from breaking. As for size the P-OLED display it measures 5.4 inches and has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and density of 540 pixels per inch.

Specs

When it comes to hardware, each of these devices has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset on board, and it is coupled with an octa-core CPU comprised of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2 GHz and an Adreno 430 GPU.

Memory

The memory slot on the Lumia 950 XL supports up to 200 GB while the version on the DROID Turbo 2 supports up to 2TB. As for RAM, each of these devices has 3 GB onboard.

Camera

DxOMark has ranked the 21 megapixel camera of DROID Turbo 2 at number 4 in its listing and the Lumia 950 XL which has a 20 megapixel camera with OIS does not have a ranking so far.

Price

Here the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL has a price tag of $650 unlocked while the DROID Turbo 2 costs $634 unlocked.
