Many fans are now eager to know more details about the highly anticipated Microsoft Surface Pro 5, most specifically its release date and the specifications. However, based on the recent spreading rumors, it appears like fans will have to wait much longer before any official announcement gets released.

First up, word has it that the predicted October release date for the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is going to be moved at a much later date, which might probably land next year — as a worst case scenario. The reason for the delay could be one of two things.

The first theory, as said on previous reports, is due to the fact that the next Windows 10 update, Redstone 2, would most likely roll out sometime next year — the first update is expected to be released sometime June 2016.

The second theory, which is slightly plausible, is due to the numerous issues that fans have spotted on the Surface Pro 4, mainly the poor management in terms of power, heating issues of the device, and sudden crashes for the display driver, International Business Times report.

Because of the documented issue, speculations suggest that Microsoft will most likely take its time developing the next Surface Pro iteration. Furthermore, the manufacturer will probably improve the components of the device to tackle the issues it encountered on it current version.

The most notable rumor that has been spreading is the 7th-gen chipset, Kaby Lake, from Intel. Word on the street suggests that Microsoft is still waiting for the release of Kaby Lake, which the company will use for its Surface Pro 5 iteration.

The time frame of this would most likely land sometime next year, possibly alongside the next Redstone Windows 10 update.

However, do take note that the details available right now are all based on rumors and speculations. It is highly advisable to take everything with a pinch of salt for the time being and wait for the official word coming from Microsoft regarding the specs and release date of the Surface Pro 5.
