'MLB The Show 16' roster update adds seven new players, gives Jake Arrieta 96 overall rating
The latest "MLB The Show 16" roster update is now here, and with it are some new names being added to the game.
This time around, the latest roster update is adding just seven new players, as opposed to the numerous new faces that were introduced earlier on.
Among those being added to the game are Boston Red Sox prospects William Cuevas and Marco Hernandez.
Two new San Francisco Giants players are also being added to the game, as pitchers Derek Law and Steven Okert are now on the roster.
Cincinnati Reds pitcher Drew Hayes is also one of the players being introduced via the game's newest roster update. Los Angeles Angels outfielder Rafael Ortega is also now inside "MLB The Show 16." The last of the new roster additions is Miami Marlins pitcher Nick Wittgren.
Aside from adding some new players, the latest roster update is also making changes to the overall ratings of some high profile major leaguers.
Notably, Chicago Cubs starting pitcher and reigning Cy Young award winner Jake Arrieta had his overall rating bumped up to 96, thanks in part to a stellar start to the 2016 regular season that has already included a no-hitter.
Other notable players who have had their ratings tweaked via the new update include Detroit Tigers outfielder Justin Upton and Matt Holliday of the St. Louis Cardinals, who is now a first baseman in the game.
The new "MLB The Show 16" roster update also makes changes to the depth charts of numerous teams, as detailed on the game's official forums.
For instance, Reds' pitcher Tony Cingrani is now penciled as the team's closer with J.J. Hoover now getting the relief pitcher designation.
The update also reflects other roster changes that involve some notable names being moved to the minor leagues while also identifying those players who have been promoted to the major leagues.
More news about future "MLB The Show 16" roster updates should be made available as they are released.
