'MLB The Show 16' news: More details about updated Franchise Mode revealed
Baseball fans are set to get a revamped version of Franchise Mode in "MLB The Show 16."
In a video posted on YouTube, the game's developers talked about some of the changes being made, including the addition of more comprehensive stat-tracking.
Instead of gamers only being able to view stats from the most recent seasons, they will soon be able to see all the numbers that a particular player has posted dating all the way back to when they first made their Major League Baseball (MLB) debuts.
The game is also adding more advanced stats such as WAR (wins above replacement) and FIP (fielding independent pitching) to help provide a better snapshot of an individual player's level of performance.
In Franchise Mode, players will also be tasked with managing the morale levels and different personalities of their teams. This means that morale levels and personalities will also be factored into team construction.
Adding free agents in Franchise Mode will also be more dependent upon certain factors such as the money being offered, the role they will be given and even the proximity of the team's location to their homes.
Finances in the game have also been tweaked to better reflect the economics of MLB in real life.
Scouting will also be more in-depth in the revamped Franchise Mode, and it will be more instrumental in helping players land the best athletes available.
Aside from the widespread changes being made to "MLB The Show 16's" Franchise Mode, there will also be minor tweaks being added to other aspects of the game.
In a video shared by GameStop, players can see some of these minor changes such as specific stadiums now having retractable roof options.
Fans will also be able to hear new commentary lines and view additional uniform details for specific players.
"MLB The Show 16" will be released on March 29.
