NBA Miami Heat trade rumors 2016: Goran Dragić to leave after Dwyane Wade's departure?

The Miami Heat received a huge blow this off-season after franchise superstar Dwyane Wade decided to join the Chicago Bulls. Now, another member of the backcourt might also exit as point guard Goran Dragić is dragged to the trade rumor mill.

(Reuters/Steve Mitchell/USA TODAY Sports)The Miami Heat's Goran Dragić is being linked to trade rumors this off-season after the departure of Dwyane Wade.

Dragić was one of the players brought in by the Heat after LeBron James left South Beach to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The 30-year-old was acquired together with his brother Zoran from the Phoenix Suns in February of 2015.

In Dragić's first run with the Heat during the 2014-15 season, he only played in 26 games but was automatically given the starting job. He performed splendidly for Miami, but unfortunately, he came in late as the team missed the playoffs.

During the previous season, Dragić was again a key piece for the Heat. Seeing action in 72 games (all starts), he was putting up 14.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.8 assists and one steal per outing. He continued his good performance in Miami's playoff run as he averaged 16.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists.

Despite Dragić's contributions to the Heat in the past two seasons, he is still affected by Wade leaving the franchise. The Slovenian playmaker is involved in trade rumors this off-season.

Sports Illustrated's FanSided suggested five teams where Dragić will be a good fit if ever the Heat consider parting ways with him. These teams are the Sacramento Kings, Dallas Mavericks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets, and the New Orleans Pelicans.

Two of those teams, the Mavs and Rockets, were in the playoffs last season but did not last long, being eliminated in the first round, while the remaining three teams are rebuilding franchises needing quality players to help them successfully end the process.

For now, Dragić is staying in Miami and likely he will, at least for the 2016-17 season. But if the Heat go on full rebuilding mode, expect his name to be on the trade market.
