Following the recent release of 5.1 Lollipop, users had complained that it failed to resolve the nagging memory leak bug, which was first noticed after the v5.0.1update was released. Apparently, the memory leak bug resulted in certain apps hogging the phone's RAM memory, making apps crash suddenly on Nexus 5 devices.

Users began criticizing Google on various social networking sites and on the official AOSP (Android Open Source Project) Issue Tracker for its failure to fix the bug. Google later officially acknowledged the memory leak glitch in the Android 5.1 Lollipop and assured that the bug had been fixed during its internal testing and another update would follow soon.

Google had earlier released build number LMY47E to fix SIM-card handling issues and resolve issues with the radio firmware to improve the software for cellular, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. Google's previous build had also resulted in changes to binary files related to NFC, sensors, and text-to-speech engine.

Last month, Google had released the third build for Android 5.1 Lollipop, named LMY47I, for Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 to fix bugs and other minor issues found in Android 5.1. Google had made the new update with build number 5.1.0 (LMY47I) available for Nexus 5 and Nexus 6. Users could manually download the factory images from the Google Developers page and flash it on their devices.

However, Nexus 5 users have been reportedly complaining about a new camera crashing bug with the handset, after installing build number 5.1.0 (LMY47I). According to reports, the camera crash occurs whenever any stock app or third-party software, like Facebook, Snapchat or Smart Unlock, tries to access the camera.

Currently, no proper fix is available for the camera crash issue and hard rebooting the Nexus 5 device can resolve the problem, though the camera can freeze again as soon as the HDR option is enabled.
