When it came to phablets, the Galaxy Note 4 and the Nexus 6 were two of the top devices, which dominated the market last year. Here is how the device from Samsung, which comes with a stylus compares against its whale-sized competitor.

Design

The Nexus 6 was manufactured by Motorola for Google. It comes with a plastic body with a dimple on its back panel. Despite being made of plastic, one of its premium elements is a metal edge running around its rim, which gives the phone a sharper design. Just like the Nexus 6, the Note 4 also has a plastic body. However, it comes with a metal frame, which makes the device sturdier and a back panel layered with faux leather, which makes it easier to hold. Its major advantage over its competitor is its S Pen Stylus, which allows for accurate drawing and writing.

Display

When it comes to screen size, the Nexus 6's display is obviously bigger. It comes with an AMOLED screen, measuring 5.96 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 493 pixels per inch while the Note 4 comes with a super AMOLED screen measuring 5.7 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and a density of 515 pixels per inch.

Specs

Both devices were released last year, so their hardware is similar. On the Nexus 6 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, a CPU with four cores clocked at 2.7 GHz and an Adreno 420 GPU. On the Note 4 is also a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, a Krait 450 CPU with four cores clocked at 2.7 GHz and an Adreno 420 GPU.

Memory

The Nexus 6 does not have a memory slot while the Note 4 has a version that allows for the addition of up to 128 GB of external storage. In terms of RAM, however, both have 3 GB onboard.

Camera

The Nexus 6 has a 13 megapixel camera and the Note 4 has a 16 megapixel camera. Both cameras have optical image stabilization.

Price

The Nexus 6 costs $249 with a two-year contract while the Note 4 is priced at $299 with a similar contract.
