Game developer Psyonix has made it possible for their game "Rocket League" to be playable on a cross-console setting. Nevertheless, the developer is just waiting for Sony's go signal for it to go head to head with Xbox One and Windows PC players.

The suggestion started four months ago when Psyonix announced that they have already figured out how cross-battles between consoles could become a reality. Moreover, the game developer had made it possible last May for Xbox One and PC gamers to enjoy vehicular soccer matches between themselves.

In addition, it didn't take the game developer that long to figure out how the crossover battle would be applicable on the PlayStation 4 console. In fact, Psyonix's vice president Jeremy Dunham revealed that the said crossover idea is now ready.

However, Dunham is uncertain as to when Sony will give its green light for the said proposal. He explained that the much-awaited approval could come anytime, but they still don't know when. Dunham added that they are now anxiously waiting, including the fans.

Furthermore, the vice president doused rumors that Sony is unwilling to participate with the idea. He said that the company just wants to make sure that everything will be running smoothly on their end before they give their approval.

Meanwhile, Sony even stated that their console has been supporting cross-console play between other gaming platforms like what they did over a decade ago with PC gamers when they released Square Enix's "Final Fantasy XI." The company added that they are interested in having discussions with developers who intend to have their titles open for a cross-platform play.

If in the event that Sony finally approves Psyonix's proposal, this will be a revolutionary event in gaming history as players of two of the biggest gaming platforms will be either battling it out or making alliances with each other in this one of a kind title.
