Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release date, specs, price: Developer Edition for Verizon coming soon
Following its longstanding tradition of releasing developer editions on Verizon, Samsung has announced that Galaxy Note 4 Developer Edition is "coming soon" to Verizon.
"The developer edition comes with an unlocked bootloader, and does not feature any of Verizon's bloatware. What you get instead is Samsung's TouchWiz and the ability to tinker with the device as you wish," Android Central reports.
Other than the above-mentioned features, Galaxy Note 4 Developer Edition's specs are similar to that of the regular handset.
There is no definite release date indicated, but the pricing suggests that this variant will sell cheaper compared to the non-developer edition models.
The official Samsung website has confirmed that Verizon's Galaxy Note 4 Developer Edition can be purchased for $662.53, whereas the regular sports a price tag of $699.99.
There is also a big likelihood that this flagship will stay exclusive to Verizon.
The South Korean organization is still struggling to try and end the year on a good note with profit woes for the past four quarters.
In fact, the company has officially posted an annual loss, which has not happened since 2011, considering that Galaxy S5 did well when it was launched earlier in the year.
To make things worse, the company's arch nemesis Apple is doing amazingly well with its iPhone 6 models that have sold more than 39 million units to date.
Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 has received good amount of reviews online.
Whether it will topple iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus in particular, within the next couple of weeks is going to be one of the biggest challenges for the company this fall.
