Just in time for its expected holiday shopping season release date, Samsung has unwrapped what-could-be the feature of the new Galaxy Note Edge that could trample competition – 60 GHz WiFi speed.

If reports are accurate, this new WiFi standard means that a user will be able to download an HD movie (1GB) within three seconds.

This cutting edge technology being integrated in this new flagship smartphone is still unconfirmed, but it is certain that the Galaxy Note Edge specs features a unique borderless aesthetics.

"The device's unique curved Edge screen provides quick access to frequently used apps, alerts and device functionality all with the swipe of a thumb, even when the cover is closed," a product description stated.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge sports a 5.6-inch Quad HD display with 2560 x 1440 resolution, 2.7 GHz Quad-core processor, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal memory, 16 MP rear-facing camera, 3.7 MP front-facing camera and runs on Android KitKat 4.4.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics is on the verge of unraveling another quarter of wilting profits brought about by several factors including predicaments in succession planning, unsold inventories and poor performance of the mid-range smartphones.

The company's stocks has also fallen 19 percent this year.

However, Barron sees this slump as a way to lure more investors into the "cheap" market value of Samsung's mobile division, and could gain as much as 50 percent.

"The Samsung story may require some investor patience. Yet the shares look promising, given the company's leading brand, fortress-like balance sheet, still-ample earnings, and a controlling family that sooner or later will align itself with outside shareholders," Barron's said.

Samsung Electronics has also reportedly paid Microsoft a whopping $1 billion for a patent-licensing agreement related to Android.

Looping of all the negative elements plaguing the mobile division of the world's largest smartphone maker, the upcoming Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy Note 4 will have to carry Samsung to avoid another plunge in the last quarter of 2014.

Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is launching in the United States anytime this quarter, and with a late October release date in Japan.
