'Steven Universe' season 3 news: new episodes leak online
There is no denying that fans of "Steven Universe" are crazy about the Cartoon Network animated series. They happily celebrated the show's return last month but seemed to be eager for more content. As a result, many have already viewed some advanced and yet-to-be-aired episodes.
Earlier this week, two episodes of the animated series, specifically the fifth and sixth episodes, were apparently leaked online. The fifth episode, titled "Hit the Diamond," is said to have been the French version of "Steven Universe." The episode features Steven, the Crystal Gems and Rubies joining forces to find where Jasper and Peridot are.
On the other hand, the sixth episode, titled "Steven Floats," features Steven gaining more powers. He was rewarded by Malachite with new abilities in order to help the latter find the Cluster and effectively deal with circumstances that followed after Peridot and Lapiz Lazuli could not reconcile.
While fans quickly consumed these leaked episodes, they have already been taken down as of this posting.
Meanwhile, showrunner Rebecca Sugar has revealed that she is entertaining the idea of further expanding the animated series on to other platforms. Currently, "Steven Universe" has already been adapted to mobile games, books, and comics. It won't really be surprising if fans of the show will also be treated to an album, after all, "Steven Universe" already previously featured one musical episode.
"I'd love to make an album, that's something I'm always hoping [for]," Sugar told The Los Angeles Times.
In a separate interview with Entertainment Weekly, she also explained the unrelenting stubbornness of Lapis. Sugar explained that the character is obsessed with rules and regulations and believes that things can only be done one way.
"Her unquestioning obedience toward Yellow Diamond that eventually rockets her into becoming a rebel and anarchist when she realizes Yellow Diamond is capable of being wrong," Sugar said.
