'Tekken 7' release date: game may not be exclusive for the PS4
"Tekken 7" may only be confirmed for the PS4 for now, but that does not mean that the fighting game will also not make it to other platforms.
Recently, chatter about the game's potential ports began to pick up after an article from Gamespot indicated that it would be exclusive to Sony's current gen console.
After the article went online, a few fans asked some of the folks involved with the fighting game franchise if the PS4 exclusivity was a real thing.
In a Twitter conversation, "Tekken" brand and community advisor Mark Julio responded to a fan who asked about the contents of the article. Julio replied by stating that the article has been taken down due to "inaccuracy and weirdness."
Julio did not mention exactly which part of the article was inaccurate, though the fans in the conversation seemed to believe that he was referring to the bit about console exclusivity
Similarly, "Tekken" game designer Michael Murray was also asked the same question on Twitter. Murray replied by indicating that the correct way to talk about "Tekken 7's" console availability is to say that "it has only been confirmed for the PS4 at this time."
It's worth noting that neither Julio nor Murray actually clearly stated that "Tekken 7" would also be coming to other consoles.
For now, the upcoming fighting game may only be officially confirmed for the PS4, but that may just be because an announcement detailing its availability on other consoles has simply yet to be made.
Currently, the fighting game is available only in arcades all over Japan, though it is expected to eventually make its way to the PS4 and perhaps even other consoles, sooner rather than later.
Unfortunately, an official release date for the fighting game's console debut has yet to be announced.
More news about "Tekken 7" will hopefully be made available in the near future.
