'Vikings' season 4 air date in July 2016? what to expect
If the latest reports are to be believed, it won't take long before fans will see the History channel hit series "Vikings" again in July.
Although there is no official confirmation about the premiere date for the other half of season 4, the official Facebook page of "Vikings" gives a hint that the show will air again "later this year." This was in response to the query of one fan regarding the next air time of the series.
Some observers say that if the creators of "Vikings" decide to air the show in September, it is still a good move since four months of waiting is not bad at all because it will give fans time to re-watch whatever they have missed and be re-acquainted with the story.
"Vikings" season 4 will still focus on the story of King Ragnar of Lothbrok, played by Travis Fimmel, and his sons. The next season will show the aftermath of Ragnar's defeat under the hands of his brother Rollo, played by Clive Standen.
Michael Hirst, the creator of "Vikings," said that Ragnar's story is far from over. He added that viewers haven't seen the best of Ragnar's story yet.
In one of the promo trailers of the show, Ragnar can be seen training his son, Ivar the Boneless (James Quinn Markey), to be his successor and declaring that the world will one day know and fear Ivar's name.
In an interview on Entertainment Weekly, Hirst said that aside from Ragnar, season 4 will also focus on Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick).
"She's a huge part of the story going forward. There's something she does which is so unexpected, but when you think about it later, you think: 'No, she had to do that. That is Lagertha," he added.
As for Rollo, the promo trailer shows in one of the scenes Rollo declaring to his French wife, Princess Gisla (Morgane Polanski) that Viking blood still runs in his veins. This sets more questions whether Rollo will betray the French and go back to his family.
