'WWE 2K17' release date news, roster rumors: Sheamus, Dean Ambrose scanned for new game
"WWE 2K17" appears to be shaping up quite nicely as more WWE Superstars may have just been scanned for the upcoming game.
This time around, the list of WWE Superstars who have been scanned for this year's installment of the wrestling game franchise reportedly includes four former world champions, as well as one of the most popular figures in sports entertainment today.
As PW Insider noted and as reported on by Cageside Seats, former world champions Alberto Del Rio, Big Show, Sheamus and the currently injured Seth Rollins are some of the new names who may have recently done something related to an upcoming game.
Dean Ambrose is also reportedly part of that group.
As Attack of the Fanboy noted, even though all of the aforementioned Superstars have been featured in earlier "WWE 2K" games, it may have been necessary to scan them all again in order to create better character models for the upcoming wrestling title.
"WWE 2K17" is also expected to feature some current Superstars who have yet to appear in games from the franchise.
A.J. Styles is among those new wrestlers expected to be featured in the upcoming game.
Some female wrestlers may also be set to join the roster of "WWE 2K17," with Bayley, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and current WWE Women's Champion Charlotte among the likely additions.
No release date for the new wrestling game has been announced as of now, though if past years and games are reliable indicators, then fans may be able to look forward to a fall release.
Previous games in the franchise, including last year's "WWE 2K16," made their debuts in late October, and that same release window may also be given to this year's installment.
More news about "WWE 2K17," as well as its official roster and release date, should be made available soon.
