The latest game added to the list of Xbox One backwards compatible titles has just been announced, and it's quite the significant addition.

In a recent tweet, Xbox's Larry Hryb, aka Major Nelson, announced that "Call of Duty: Black Ops" is the newest game that has received the backwards compatibility treatment.

Fans who may have missed out on the game back when it was initially released and who are curious about it now can read a brief description of it over on Major Nelson.

According to the description, "Call of Duty: Black Ops" will take players to a world seen only by a select few as they join the ranks of elite special forces who operate in the shadows and who are in the midst of constant danger.

In order to successfully accomplish their missions, players will be granted access to special weapons and gear that will hopefully enable them to overcome the opposing forces looking to gun them down.

Notably, "Call of Duty: Black Ops" is also the first title from the franchise to be included in the list of Xbox One backwards compatible games.

In related news, the Xbox One's backwards compatibility feature is now also capable of providing support for multi-disc games.

News of the new multi-disc support feature being added was confirmed by Hryb in a recent post over on Reddit.

At this point, one game has already taken advantage of the new development in the form of "DEUS Ex: Human Revolution – Director's Cut" being added to the collection of backwards compatible titles.

Fans are also putting forth their own suggestions for multi-disc games that may soon become part of the backwards compatibility program, with many mentioning both "Mass Effect 2" and "Mass Effect 3" as desirable additions.

More news about the Xbox One backwards compatibility feature should be made available in the near future.
