Even as rumors have been circulating that Sony is planning on putting an end to its E Series of smartphones, the company has continued to release new devices. One of these upcoming phones appearing in rumors has the model number F3311 and it is thought to be the Xperia E5.

Recently, there have been rumors that Sony is going to concentrate on the new Xperia X lineup and cancel all others. While this particular rumor has not been confirmed by the company, it is clear that there are plans to restructure the lineup. Also, Sony has stated that last year's flagship Xperia Z lineup will not be refreshed.

However, according to recent rumors, it appears that Sony has a new smartphone in the works and it has the model number F3311. More importantly, this model number is thought to be associated with the Xperia E5 since it was reported by a website in Russia that the device had made its way through Russian Customs, as translated by GSMArena.

Also, the reports about the Xperia E5 have pointed toward the smartphone coming with a display measuring 4.6 inches, with a resolution of 720p. Coming to the RAM of the device,  it is thought to be around 1.5GB while internal storage will be limited to 16GB. A MediaTek MT6735 chipset is also expected to run the show on the Xperia E5.

This is however not the first time that the F3311 has been spotted, as it was earlier seen accompanying the F3216. The F3216, more importantly, was released as the Xperia XA Ultra, about a week ago. That particular device comes with a 6-inch display, a resolution of 1080p and a density of 367 pixels per inch. However, the device was added to the new X lineup and not any other. Also, the pricing and the specs of the Xperia XA Ultra has put it squarely into the upper end of the mid-range segment and it is likely that the upcoming Xperia E5 could be cheaper.

Finally, there are no indications when the Xperia E5 could release but it is likely to arrive soon.
