The hype surrounding the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro is slowly building up as its release date draws nearer. The new Camaro, which is being positioned as a competitor of the latest Mustang model, will reportedly be sleeker, faster and better in every way from its previous iteration.

The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro will deviate from the current design of Chevy cars. The 2016 model is said to sport a smaller grille and smaller headlights. While the new Chevy Camaro is reported to have a wider body, the height is said to have been lowered for easier driving. The chassis has also been tweaked so that there is independent suspension all around the car. It is also about 200 pounds lighter but with a more rigid frame than the previous designs.

Speaking of designs, the new Chevy Camaro offers several trim levels, like the blacked-out bowtie and the "gold illuminated front bowtie." It also comes with a convertible top that is fully automated. This model also boasts of an impressive command center that drivers can utilize to adjust the car's settings so that it will look and run in the most comfortable way for the user.

But it is not just the outside that has been given an overhaul. The 2016 Chevy Camaro's engines have gotten some upgrades as well. The company will reportedly offer three engine options — a base engine that is a turbo-charged 2.0 liter I4 LTG, an all-new, naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6 LGX option and the Camaro SS engine which is a 6.2-liter V8 LT1 Small Block engine. The latter has been rated at 455 horsepower (339 kW) and 455 pound-feet of torque (617 Nm).

The price of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro has been pegged at $25,000 for the base model, a competitive price when compared to the likes of the latest Mustang model and Toyota's GT86.

Those who are thinking of getting the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro would only have to wait until August 13 to place their pre-orders. Information garnered from a supposed official document also pegs the date as the day that production of the 2016 Camaro will officially start.
