2016 Presidential Poll latest news, updates: Bernie Sanders and Ted Cruz win in Wisconsin

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz and Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders won the primary elections in Wisconsin. So what does their victory mean?

For the Republican side, the win of Ted Cruz over Donald Trump makes the nomination in becoming the representative of the party harder. This is because when Donald Trump doesn't reach 1,237 delegates, it becomes a contested convention. When a contested convention happens, then it comes to the leaders of the Republican Party to choose the nominee and not the public. This is the reason why upon hearing the defeat, Donald Trump released a statement saying, "Ted Cruz is worse than a puppet — he is a Trojan horse, being used by the party bosses attempting to steal the nomination."

On the other hand, Cruz's camp is quick to respond by saying, "Donald Trump has a real problem when he gets his tail kicked. And that's exactly what happened tonight." It clearly shows how the Republican Party is in disarray and is trying to sort things out because it may be a clear winner when the general election comes that a Democrat might grab the seat if this keeps up on their end.

For the Democratic side, the win of Bernie Sanders may spark a fire in his campaign, with momentum on his side. Although it seems like a little bit too late, since his opponent Hilary Clinton has a sizeable lead over him. In a sign of sportsmanship, Hillary sent a congratulatory message to Bernie Sanders via Twitter and thanked those who voted. According to BBC, of the 86 Wisconsin delegates, Sanders had an estimated 44 delegates, while Clinton had 28. This shows that Sanders may have won a battle but not yet the war.

This is getting interesting since nothing is certain when it comes to the elections, but rest assured that Donald Trump will have guns blazing since the next Republican and Democratic primary will be held in New York on Apr. 19. All eyes will be on Trump and Hillary if they can manage to get delegates to their cause and reach the target number for a nomination.
