2017 Volvo V40 news: Refreshed hatchback to be introduced at Geneva Motor Show

Volvo Cars has introduced the 2017 V40 hatchback. The updated model comes with a refreshed design that now features Volvo's current design language. The hatchback will be showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
"The V40 is the best-selling Volvo model in Europe and the second-most popular Volvo model globally, making it a very important car for the company. With the updates for model year 2017 we make this already very successful model even more attractive to customers in the segment," said Björn Annwall, senior vice president for Sales, Marketing and Customer Service at Volvo.
The 2017 Volvo V40 has been given an updated exterior design that is also featured in the Volvo's new 90 Series. The front fascia now features Volvo's Iron Mark grille and T-shaped LED headlights which Volvo describes as "Thor's Hammer." Volvo is also giving the V40 five additional exterior color choices – Amazon Blue, Denim Blue, Bursting Blue, Mussel Blue and Luminous Sand.
Trim levels have also been renamed to mirror the current designations seen in the XC90. For 2017, there will be eight models across the V40, V40 Cross Country and R-Design models.
Inside the cabin, Volvo has infused design cues first seen in the Volvo Concept Estate. The 2017 V40 comes with a new Charcoal/Blond steering wheel and a new City Weave upholstery. Other design features include contrast stitching, a black headliner and new tread plates. Volvo is also offering three new interior trims – Milled Aluminum, Black Grid Aluminum and Stealth Aluminum.
The Volvo On Call has also been updated to deliver Apple Watch, Android Wear and Microsoft Band 2 connectivity. The app also has Flic button compatibility which allows drivers to perform several tasks like locking the car or pre-heating the car.
The Volvo 40 Series models also come with CleanZone technology. Interior air quality is controlled as the technology ensures that any air coming in is properly filtered and removed of pollutants and allergens.
The 2017 Volvo V40 will be available to order by May 2016 and first deliveries are expected by June.
