Alfa Romeo is planning a North American comeback with the introduction of the 2017 Giulia Quadrifoglio – the Italian-built mid-size sedan. During the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show, Alfa Romeo revealed details about the 2017 model arriving in the U.S. next year.

The 2017 Alfa Romeo Guilia was built on the company's new platform, "Le meccanica delle emozioni," or the mechanics of emotion.

"With an all-new lightweight platform and class-leading power and handling, the all-new Giulia delivers on the pedigree of incredible technology, race-inspired performance and Italian design and style," said Reid Bigland, Head of Alfa Romeo North America.

The Italian style of the 2017 Giulia is evident from the car's muscular proportions, athletic lines and sculpted body. The sedan's front fascia features Alfa Romeo's signature "shield" grille, which is flanked by bi-xenon projector headlamps. It is elegant, made from high-quality materials and boasts best-in-class aerodynamics.

The 2017 Alfa Romeo is one of the most powerful production cars in the market. Its Ferrari-derived 2.9-liter V6 engine produces 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. The engine comes with a 4-wheel-drive and a 6-speed manual transmission. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds and attain a top speed of 191 mph. The engine also comes with cylinder deactivation with start-stop technology that improves fuel economy by 15 percent.

Alfa Romeo will also introduce a much tamer version of the Giulia – it will be powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 276 horsepower via a rear-wheel-drive setup.

The all-new sedan also comes with massive Brembo brake calipers fitted to 19-inch Dark Grey five-hole design wheels.

Safety features include full-speed forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control with full stop, lane departure warning, blind-sport monitoring, rear cross path detection and parking assist.

The all-new sedan can be customized based on the driver's preferences. There are seven exterior color options – Rosso Alfa, Vulcano Black Metallic, Silverstone Gray Metallic, Montecarlo Blue Metallic, Vesuvio Gray Metallic, Trofeo White Tri-Coar, and Rosso Competizione Tri-Coat. There are also five premium interior combinations with a choice of accent stitching.

The 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia will go on sale in the U.S. during the second quarter of 2016 and will be priced at around $70,000.
