Acer Liquid Zest Plus release date in July for $199: specs and features

(Facebook/Acer)Acer introduces Acer Liquid Zest Plus.

Taiwanese company Acer announces that its latest product, the Acer Liquid Zest Plus — an upgrade to Liquid Zest — will be made available to the market in July 2016, for a price of $199.

It is said that the initial price for the product was set at $250. As to why there is a $51 cut from the price, no report has explained yet.

The Android smartphone promises better features and specifications than its entry-level counterpart and will come in the colors Morrocan Blue and Andes White.

Features of the upcoming smartphone include a 5.5-inch High Definition (HD) screen display, quad-core 1.3 Gigahertz Cortex A53 Central Processing Unit (CPU), 2 Gigabytes of Random Access Memory (RAM), and a 16 Gigabyte internal phone storage.

What makes the tech market excited about the product, however, is its 5,000 milliampere hour (mAh) battery. In usage terms, the battery promises to last for three consecutive days under regular mobile usage, or, last 24 hours with heavy data usage. Plus, despite the gigantic battery life span, the mobile device will still be able to provide fast-charging abilities.

Aside from the battery, another feature that the mobile phone is rooting to be another source of fame is its camera. It is said that the Liquid Zest Plus will have a 13-megapixel back camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. While those in itself are not too fancy features, Acer is said to equip the cameras with a "hybrid tri-focusing system," which basically means that it will be able to activate quick focus features in three different Auto-Focus (AF) systems — contrast (low-light conditions), laser (dark conditions), and phase detection (bright-light conditions).

The Acer Liquid Zest Plus will be running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, will run in 4G, and will have a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

No reports yet as to whether the smartphone will be sporting dual SIM ports.
