Amazon has just unwrapped its new Kindle Fire HDX 7 tablet that it will bundle with the struggling Fire Phone. The new tablet will be offered exclusively by AT&T.

"Kindle Fire HDX is perfect for work or play, with an ultra-fast quad-core processor, the latest graphics engine, world-class Dolby audio, and a highly portable form factor," the product description at Amazon page said.

Beginning Oct. 24, AT&T will offer Kindle Fire HDX 7 for $49.99 when purchased with Fire Phone, which costs $0.99 on a two-year agreement.

This limited offer ends sometime in November.

Customers can also buy the tablet alone for $10 per month with zero down payment or $99.99 enclosed in a two-year contract.

"Kindle Fire HDX 7 is the ideal tech companion if you're looking to enjoy some rest and relaxation with a movie, TV show, book, play some of your favorite games or browse the web. In addition, purchase of the Fire Phone includes one year of Prime, which allows you to access tens of thousands of movies and TV shows at no additional cost with Prime Instant Video or enjoy over a million ad-free songs and playlists with Prime Music," according to an AT&T promotion.

The tablet and phone bundle will allow users to access Lending Library, which contains more than 500,000 books.

The Kindle Fire HDX 7 specs features a 7-inch HD display with 1200 x 1920 resolution, 2 GB RAM, 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, and is powered by Fire OS 3.X "Mojito."

Amazon hangs its hopes to at least end the year decently with this duo offering, which to a degree, confirmed the failure of the Fire Phone.

While Amazon Fire Phone looked promising when it was launched in July, the handset did not do well for various reasons, including a lackluster operating system and dry functionalities.

The handset was priced at $449 no contract and $200 on-contract when it was initially released in the market.
