People are waiting on AMD to finally release their high-end graphics card in the form of the rumored RX 490, but what exactly will this new item be able to provide gamers?

Even though most expect it to be positioned as the company's high-end offering, there is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding how it will actually manage to provide the top-of-the line performances that people want to see.

Some rumors have indicated that the graphics card may become capable of providing premium performances by utilizing the Vega architecture, though if that turns out be the case, then the RX 490 may not be released until the first half of next year at the earliest.

Asking gamers to wait that long for the RX 490 could be a risky move for AMD and that's why other rumors have indicated that the company may go about trying to provide high quality graphics card performances to gamers in a different way.

Specifically, AMD may decide to utilize a dual-GPU setup for the card in order to unlock its full potential.

Going this route would probably allow AMD to release the rumored graphics card sometime this year instead of early 2017, and it's not like they haven't done this before as well.

As PCGamesN pointed out, AMD has offered multi-GPU cards before, so it has to at least be in consideration now for the RX 490.

As for the card's other specs, it may end up featuring a base clock speed of 1200 MHz together with memory bandwidth of 716.8 GB/s or higher, according to Videocardz.

Folks who are also thinking about getting this particular graphics card should also expect it to be on the pricier side since it will likely be advertised as AMD's high-end offering.

More details about AMD's RX 490 graphics card should be made available in the near future.
